Where our dream comes from
Our project is the result of love for Italian cuisine, and the need to combine it with typical Polish hospitality, so as to create an absolutely unique meeting place in the heart of Warsaw where to propose dishes with unmistakable flavours in an elegant and refined environment.
Our Success Story
Our founders’ goal was simple. To open a restaurant serving delicious, made-from-scratch Italian food, as well as to create a place where guests of all ages could come together to experience the unique flavors, along with the art and culture of Italy.

A 20-year history
1999
The San Lorenzo Restaurant is born
It was in 1999 that our family decided to start this project, opening the doors of a restaurant where they could transform their love of cooking into high quality dishes inspired by Italian tradition.

2002
Roman Piechnik becomes director of the restaurant
After 5 years spent in Italy, during which he fell in love with the cuisine of this country, he returned to Warsaw and decided to make his passion his job. In the 2002 he became director of the Ristorante San Lorenzo, proving to be a manager capable and up to his task.
2003
Chef Luca Dolfi arrives in our kitchen
After years of experience in Italy, acquired working in the most famous places of his native land, the Chef Luca Dolfi in 2003 goes through the doors of our kitchen bringing with him his great humility, which combined with diligence and perseverance, make him one of the best chefs in Warsaw, able to create unique dishes inspired by the Italian tradition.

Inauguration of the wine cellar
In 2003 we decided to open a cellar in our restaurant, where our customers could find a wide and accurate selection of the best wines to accompany the unique taste of our dishes.

Construction of outdoor terrace
To further expand the venue, in 2007 we decided to create a new covered outdoor room, where we can accommodate our guests, so as to provide them with a comfortable experience in an elegant and familiar environment.

In 2013 the guide Warsaw Insider named us on his header, giving us the mention of Best Restaurant of Warsaw.

After winning our fifth star, the TripAdvisor platform in 2018 awarded us with a Certificate of Excellence attesting our capabilities.

Restyling image of the Restaurant
Our cuisine is a mix of tradition and innovation, so we always want to keep up with the times. We have therefore decided to present ourselves to our customers with a new image that best represents the spirit of our local.
